Semester 1 was a fantastic start to the year. We had so many events hosted on and off of university campus. Plenty of money has been raised already this year to bring our current RAG total to a whopping £19,400!

• UniBoob Team Pink Week including the Pink Party which was held in conjunction with the Womens Network
• UniBoob Team GlitterBall – an event in The Hangar for Breast
• UniBoob Team 24hr Bikeathon- an event part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
• Biology LGBTQ+ Day- an event to highlight and celebrate LGBTQ+ people in STEM careers
• ACS Walk through Black history Month Exhibition
• Finish Society Rave Night- the society held a extremely successful rave on a Saturday in the Hangar
• Nigerian Society Launch/ Nigerian independence day- they launched their society on campus on Nigerian independence Day which included some food, talks and music.
• LOCO Show Co Panto – the annual panto hosted by our theatre society
• Poetry Night – Alongside Neves #NeverOK campaign the Poetry Society hosted an open mic night surrounding consent

Movember 2021

We had a fantastic Rowathon hosted in aid of Movember, alongside all of our clubs, societies, and staff growing out their ‘tashes to raise money and awareness raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.

Teamworc action

We hosted a few TeamWorc ACTION days last semester where we worked with the Canal and River Trust to organise and take part in Canal Cleans. This was a great way for plenty of students to get involved with volunteering and to also give back to their local community by keeping it clean.
